Worship & Music - Reaching UP
Sunday School for Adults, 9:45 am
Join the Advent LC Choir!
Anyone interested in joining the choir for the 2017-
2018 season. The Advent Choir has resumed rehearsals.
7:00-8:15 pm, in the Parlor.
We always welcome new members, and this season, we have a specific need for basses.
If you enjoy singing, but cannot commit to being part of the choir, perhaps you will consider being a cantor to help lead the Psalm
reading during our traditional services.
Please contact Kelly Jannett if you would like more information on either of these opportunities. email@example.com
Traditional Lutheran liturgy and The Encounter Service
Traditional Lutheran liturgy and The Encounter Service comprise a wide range of worship styles held at Advent LC. We hold to both a traditional style of worship Sunday morning at 10:45 am, while using a more contemporary style of worship at our 8:45 am Encounter Service. The goal of our Encounter Service is to help people "encounter the holy" through a worship service that has a more contemporary feel and sound, such as using a band - piano, guitar, bass, etc.
We believe that both the traditional and Encounter Service allow us to encounter the holy every Sunday morning, so that we are empowered to encounter the holy Monday - Saturday, too!
Evangelism - Reaching OUT
We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, and loves and forgives all repentant sinners. This is the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We share the Good News through planned activities for the community, such as Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunts, and Christmas pageants. We also seek to live out the Good News by helping our neighbors. We help our neighbors by holding food drives, raising funds for local charities, collecting health kits for international aid (Lutheran World Relief), and many more ways.
The Journey Home is a Christian Outreach Center for the homeless and at-risk individuals and families in Rutherford County. When someone comes to The Journey Home, they often are looking for a place to feel at home. Everything that a person might find in a home, our clients can find within the walls of the Outreach Center, with the exception of a place to sleep.
The Way of Hope is a non-profit faith based emergency shelter for women and women with children. It is our goal to protect this high risk sector of society from the many types victimization that they suffer. With the Women's Resource Center we can provide a safe place during the day as well at night in The Way Of Hope. Our programming teaches boundary setting, goal assessment, anger management, budgeting, and Christian ethics just to name a few.
